Greetings from the Clarke Schools Food Pantry! There have been some new, exciting developments that we would like to share with you!
We recently began a partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa. This means we will be getting new inventory every two weeks. We are still welcoming and grateful for any donations we receive!
Beginning on Monday, June 26 all Clarke families are welcome to shop for their own food, so you can pick the food your family would enjoy most! You will no longer be receiving a bag at the door. If you need assistance shopping, we are happy to accommodate.
With our new system, when you come for the first time, on or after June 26, there will be a short survey for you to complete. We will have wonderful volunteers available on Monday to support this transition. Both English and Spanish speaking volunteers will be present.
A couple huge shout outs- thank you to Faith Fellowship Youth Ministry and Thomas Kedley for helping unload and organize our record-breaking first order. Thank you also to Osceola Parks and Recreation staff (Dan Cooper, Taylor Andrew, Mike Lewis and Brock Nall), Marcus Kious and Derek Van Blarcom for helping unload and install our heavy, new double refrigerator!
The Clarke Schools Food Pantry is open Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm and is located in the Clarke Central Office Building. It is free and open to all Clarke Schools families.
Due to impending weather, softball will play Varsity first tonight. Good Luck Ladies!

Gobble Grams are available for purchase $1 each! Student Council will be selling them in the coatrooms Monday (11/21) and Tuesday (11/22)!
Clarke Elementary welcomed Veda Tucker on November 16 and 17 from Rachel’s Challenge. She talked to our students about the importance of being kind and starting a kindness movement!
She challenged our students to do the following:
1. Be kind, say kind things, and do kind things
2. Accept and include others
3. Choose positive influences
4. Dream big set goals and keep a journal
5. Start a chain reaction
The students in grades K-5 accepted this challenge to become a school that promotes kindness and compassion. Special thank you to our student council students for introducing our presenter and thanking them at the end! Let the KINDNESS movement begin!

Just a reminder, if your student is in need of clothing, shoes, or coats (limited sizes available), please contact our Social Worker, Mrs. Hemesath by calling the office of the school your child attends.
It's Book Fair Time!! This year it will look a bit different, but it may actually be better!! Now you can shop from the comfort of your own home and have the books delivered directly to your home!! If you want to purchase books for gifts, your kids will never know! Any purchase, big or small, helps support the school library. The school social worker and elementary school nurse are now accepting clothing donations, with a higher need for boys pants size 5 and up. Please let the school social worker know if you are in need of anything ahemesath@clarke.k12.ia.us. Clothes can be dropped off at the elementary office.
