Students were greeted on the first day of school by none other than Remy from Ratatouille (a.k.a. Dr. Schlomer, elementary principal, in disguise 😉). 🐭👨‍🍳

With high fives, fist bumps, and big smiles, Remy reminded us that just like in the kitchen, magic happens when we work hard, dream big, and believe in ourselves. 💡📚

☀️📚 The last day of school is always bittersweet… Clarke teachers and staff already miss our students while they’re off enjoying summer break — but you know who else misses them? 🐾 AMES, our beloved therapy dog! ❤️ Ames soaked up lots of last-minute pets, hugs, and tail wags on the last day of school. He’s already counting down the days until the halls are filled with smiling faces again! Have a safe and fun summer, Clarke family! 🐶☀️

We are excited to officially welcome Dr. Sarah Kelly as the Middle School Principal and Mr. Marcus Munoz as the Middle School/High School Associate Principal for the 2025–2026 school year! 📚🍞 Miss Follmann’s kindergarten class took a trip back in time and learned about bread makers from Colonial America! After reading all about it, they got hands-on and made their own bread using a bread machine. The best part? Tasting their warm, homemade bread with different toppings! 🤩🍯🧈 The whole classroom smelled like a cozy bakery all afternoon, and the kids LOVED every bite! 👏🍞 ----- 📚🍞 ¡La clase de kindergarten de la Srta. Follmann viajó en el tiempo y aprendió sobre los panaderos de la América colonial! 🕷️🐞 Bug-tastic Learning in Second Grade! 🐜🦗 Our second graders had an un-bee-lievable time today with the Iowa State University Insect Zoo! 🏫🔬 As part of their CKLA unit on bugs, this hands-on experience brought their learning to life in the most creepy-crawly way! 🧐📚 The expert from ISU introduced students to a fascinating lineup of insects, sharing fun facts and showing off these incredible creatures up close. But the best part? Our brave students had the chance to touch and even hold some of them! 🖐️🐛 From stink bugs to stick bugs, beetles to cockroaches—and even a tarantula—our second graders faced their fears and made some buggy new friends! 🕷️💛 Huge thanks to Iowa State University Insect Zoo for making this unforgettable experience possible! 🏵️🌿 ----- 🕷️🐞 ¡Una Experiencia Increíble con Insectos en Segundo Grado! 🐜🦗 ¡Nuestros estudiantes de segundo grado tuvieron un día es-pec-ta-cu-lar con el Zoológico de Insectos de la Universidad Estatal de Iowa! 🏫🔬 Como parte de su unidad CKLA sobre insectos, esta experiencia práctica hizo que su aprendizaje cobrara vida de la manera más fascinante. 🧐📚 El experto de ISU presentó a los estudiantes una increíble variedad de insectos, compartió datos curiosos y permitió que los vieran de cerca. ¡Pero lo mejor de todo? 🐐🐐 GOAT-tastic Surprise! 🐐🐐 Preschool and 2B students had a special visit today from some adorable, friendly goats! 🥰 Students got the chance to pet, feed, and interact with these furry friends, making for an unforgettable hands-on learning experience.
