🚨AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT ALERT🚨 Today Clarke Elementary celebrated our 1,000 step readers! These students crushed the year goal of 626 steps and many read double that amount! 1,000 steps is equal to 250 hours! This morning the students got to be present for the reveal of the brand new book vending machine. Each 1,000 step reader will earn a token to be the first ones to use it tomorrow! This afternoon Clarke Elementary Student Council provided a luxury vehicle ride for the students around Osceola with stops along the square! Thank you to Flowers and More, First National Bank, American State Bank, Chris’ Photography and Timber Ridge Country Market for making this an awesome experience! The students received tokens of celebration at each stop and enjoyed listening to music, snacks and dancing on the drive! We are so incredibly proud of these students! Congratulations Luz, Kipton, Issac, Eleazar, Dylynn, Ellie, Rylee, Alejandra, Owen, Cameron, George, Paisley, Hope, Gabriel and Jacob! 🥳

April 25, 2023 Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members: I am writing this letter to inform you of an active threat drill that we will be conducting on April 28th, 2023. The drill will start at 1:20 pm in the Clarke Elementary School and then will be conducted at 2:45 pm in the Clarke Middle and High Schools. This drill will center around the steps necessary to deal with a potential school active threat lockdown situation. We will be utilizing the steps associated with the ALICE program that each of our staff, faculty and administration have been trained on. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. These steps were reviewed and discussed in detail within the secondary and elementary schools. The steps, although not sequential, will be covered as to the relevance and available action each classroom could utilize based on various scenarios. Law enforcement will also be available to answer potential questions and supervise, along with administration. We will be executing the steps within this drill, as well as conducting student learning as to what, how and why different steps could be utilized to maintain a safe environment. Again, the Clarke Community School District is announcing an active threat lockdown drill to be conducted on April 28th, 2023 at 1:20 pm in the Clarke Elementary School and then at 2:45 pm in the Clarke Middle and High Schools. Please be informed of this action and the reasoning behind our drill scenario. The safety of our kids is the most important aspect of any educational setting. We take that very seriously and are working to take every necessary step to increase the safety and security of each individual within the Clarke Community School District. Sincerely, Alan R. Dykens, EdD Superintendent

Due to potential severe weather, all evening activities/practices are canceled.
over 2 years ago, Clarke Community Schools
Hello Clarke Families, This is a reminder that if severe weather is present in our district at the time of dismissal, students will be held at school until it is deemed safe to dismiss school. Students will not be dismissed from school if severe weather sirens are sounding in Clarke and buildings will be in shelter mode. During this time, building offices may not be answering phones. Student and staff safety is the #1 priority during severe weather and sheltering situations. Thank you all for following these guidelines.
