April 14, 2023

Prom 2023 is Saturday, April 22, and we wanted you to know all the details! Students should
have electronic versions of invitations on their Google Classroom as well as physical invitations
from their advisers.

Prom is April 22 at the Clarke County Fairgrounds 4-H Building.
Promenade is from 5-6 p.m. Students should go past the fairgrounds and turn left on the gravel
at that church and go in the “back way” to the fairgrounds. They will pull up and someone from
First National Bank will valet park their car. They will be given a card to fill out to give to an
announcer who will announce their name. They will walk to the front entrance of the building
and go in that entrance. People can line up to take photos during this time.

As soon as they get there, they may go to a back room and get professional photos taken by
Chris’ Photography if they wish. Envelopes with pricing are in the HS office. They can bring the
envelope with them and hand them to the helper at the photo station.

Students may sit at any table when they get there. We will have a meal catered that consists of
pork loin, plenty of delicious sides, salads and dessert. Tea and lemonade will be served. The
meal will begin at 6 p.m. Any student who is NOT a Clarke junior or senior will need to pay $10
by next Saturday to the HS office to cover the meal. Clarke juniors and seniors will not have to
pay!

George Norris will DJ the dance from 7-10 p.m. He is always up for a good time and will make it
really fun for the kids. He’s an icon in our community and we are lucky to be able to book him.
The theme for Prom is “A Golden Gala,” with a nod to the 1920s era, Art Deco style, flappers,
etc. We will have photo opportunities for friends with props as well as the professional
photography option. The colors are black and gold.

It is not too late to sign up for Prom if a student has not done so yet. Please have them see Mrs.
Reece at the HS or Tammy in the HS office.

If students still need dresses, Cross Ministries had some very nice ones for either $5 or free
depending on a student’s situation. We don’t want students not to come because they feel they
can’t afford it. Please see Mrs. Reece with specific situations.

Thank you to the Clarke junior sponsors, Clarke administration, parents who have volunteered
to help and Tammy in the HS office for being so helpful in putting this Prom together for our
kids. It really is fun to see them dressed up and having a good time together.
