Congratulations to the Clarke Speech Team. They competed Thursday and Friday(March 4 & 5) at the All Iowa Finals for the Iowa Forensic League.
Here are the results: Gracie Wilborn - 6th in Program of Oral Interpretation, Audrey Pontier & Molly Sickels - 7th in Duo Interpretation, Wilborn & McCormick Evink - 5th in Duo Interpretation, Kennedy Bland & Ely Crawford - 3rd in Duo Interpretation. Others not making finals: Molly Sickels in Dramatic Interpretation and Cal Lundquist in Humorous Interpretation.
And.... Special congratulations to Kennedy Bland for being the STATE CHAMPION in Dramatic Interpretation! Kennedy was also selected by the Iowa Coaches to be the Senior of the Year for the state.
On February 13th, Clarke Speech competed for chances to go to National Competition in the East Iowa National Speech and Debate Association’s National Qualifier.
Advancing on to Nationals is: Ely Crawford / Kennedy Bland in Duo Interpretation, Lexi Cooper in Dramatic Interpretation, Calhoun Lundquist in Humorous Interpretation and Gracie Wilborn in Program of Oral Interpretation.
Kennedy Bland was voted as the Senior of the Year for East Iowa.
The team has worked very hard this year - having almost all of their contests virtual and they have had some great results.
