Virtual Learner Families,
We will be asking all K-12 students to take the i-Ready diagnostic assessment before 10/16. Our elementary building has already begun to test and our secondary building will test the week of October 5th.
We have created two videos to help you support your virtual learner in completing the i-Ready assessment. The 1st video will explain what the i-Ready test is and how we use the data it provides. The 2nd video will walk families through how their student will access the assessment and how you can support your student before and during the test.
Both videos can be accessed at: https://tinyurl.com/clarkeiready

Good Afternoon,
It's going to be even more important this year to have access to the most updated calendar for school activities. The Clarke Activities Department uses something called rSchool for scheduling. The hard copy of athletic schedules is only accurate the minute they were printed.
We are strongly encouraging you to use our web-based system to be able to have access at your fingertips to the most updated calendar. When events change, I change it within rSchool and it updates the calendar automatically.
Please go to the URL below to get direct access to calendar information.
https://www.southcentralconf.org/public/genie/664/school/6/

Information about how to access your child's OTUS account was sent via email earlier today to the parent/guardian email addresses on file in Infinite Campus.

The TAG Motivation Monday prompt a few weeks ago was “Teach Me: What can you teach Mrs. Fitz or your classmates?” 5th and 6th grade students were then given the opportunity to take over the class and teach! They had to submit and edit lesson plans, as well as make an instructional appointment date before Mrs. Fitz signed off. This opportunity aided students’ project planning and public speaking skills! Can you guess what our first “teacher” showed us? She did a great job!

The DaVinci Bridge Challenge was taken on by the upper grade TAG students. Their objective was to build a “bridge” with only pencils and rubber bands that would hold at least five pounds. The constraints were that they could NOT bind anything together with the rubber bands. Instead, they thought about friction, balance, and engineering. Students found this “frustrating but fun!”

Next week is ISASP testing! Students in grades 3-11 have had exposure to this new online test through tool tutorials and some practice tests; however, extra practice and exposure would be beneficial. Here are the links to the tutorial and practice tests.
