The Leader in Me is a whole-school improvement process based on the idea that everyone can be a leader.  This evidence-based approach empowers students with the leadership and life-skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.

What are the 7 Habits you ask??

  1. Be Proactive...I'm responsible for my own actions and attitude.
  2. Begin With the End in Mind... I Have a plan.
  3. Put First Things First...Work first, then play.
  4. Think Win-Win...Everyone can win.
  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood...Listen before you talk.
  6. Synergize...Together is better.
  7. Sharpen the Saw...Balance is best.

Exciting News of the Leader in Me impact

Applying the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® both at school and at home will help students internalize timeless leadership principles that nurture the skills students need for success in the 21st century.

Parents play an important role in helping their children develop deeper understanding and application of the leadership principles taught in the Leader in Me process.  Here are some things you can do to help:

1) Set goals with your family.

2) Ask your child how he or she incorporated the 7 Habits in school.

3) How could they apply the 7 Habits at home in their own personal life.

4) You, yourself can model these at home with your children!!

2018-19 Leadership Events

Every year at Clarke Elementary, we host a Leadership Day.  In fact, we will host two this next year. We will host one on November 19, 2018 and the other on April 18, 2019. These are amazing days where we open our doors to the community and other schools.  Students showcase their leadership skills, staff share their successes, and the leadership philosophy driving the culture of the school is tangibly "seen and felt."

What to expect:

* Student speeches

* Students display projects

* Performances by classrooms and individual students

* Tours of school and classrooms LED BY STUDENTS!!!

More details about these days and registration information will be posted in the fall.

WE EMPOWER LEADERS!

If you can't make one of these days and would like to see our building, we would enjoy giving anyone a tour of our building to show you the growth we continue to make.

Contact the Elementary Office for details about obtaining a tour at 641 342-6320.
